Visit from SC State Treasurer Curtis Loftis

Columbia College and the Women's Business Center of South Carolina are proud to welcome SC Treasurer Curtis Loftis to the Breed Leadership Center on the Columbia College campus.

Since 2011, Curtis Loftis has faithfully served as our State Treasurer -- managing, investing and retaining custody of more than $60 billion in public funds. Known to many as the “Taxpayer’s Friend,” he’s championed efforts to improve accountability and transparency and eliminate waste and fraud in state government. He’s returned hundreds of millions of dollars in unclaimed funds to South Carolinians. He’s overseen continued growth of the state’s award-winning Future Scholar 529 College Savings Plan, and in 2017, he launched a similar tax-advantaged savings program that benefits South Carolinians with disabilities known as the Palmetto ABLE Savings Program. A Lexington County native, Mr. Loftis is a successful small business owner and the founder and benefactor of the Saluda Charitable Foundation.
